For people who open Chrome to do something

Your browser can't tell work
from Reddit. This can.

TabInsights blocks distractions the second you start a focus sprint, tracks exactly where your hours went, cleans up the tab chaos, and suspends idle tabs to free up RAM — no account, no cloud, nothing to configure.

The part nobody puts in the App Store screenshots

You open a new tab to look one thing up.
Forty minutes later, you're not sure how you got to a car-repair channel.

Bookmarking folders don't stop that. Willpower doesn't stop that either — not reliably, not on a Tuesday at 2pm. What actually works is removing the decision: distractions get blocked automatically the moment you sit down to focus, and quietly unblocked when you're done.

What's actually in here

Seven tools. One toolbar icon.

Focus Sprints

Pick a workspace, start a 15/25/45-minute sprint. Your tabs open, distractions get blocked, and a countdown runs on your toolbar icon until it's done.

Website Blocker

Block by domain, by category, or on a schedule. Add a typed unblock challenge so willpower isn't the only thing between you and Twitter.

Automatic Time Tracking

Every domain, every day, logged without lifting a finger. See where your hours actually went — not where you assume they went.

Tab Declutter

One click closes duplicates, stale tabs, and empty pages. Groups what's left by domain or topic.

Site Time Limits

Give yourself 30 minutes of YouTube a day. When it's gone, it's gone until tomorrow — no negotiating with yourself at 11pm.

Achievement Badges

Sixteen badges for sprints completed, streaks kept, deep-work hours logged. A little gamification, entirely optional.

Memory Saver

Idle tabs get suspended automatically, freeing up RAM and speeding up your browser. One click brings any tab back exactly where you left it.

How it works

Three steps. No configuration.

  1. 01

    Open a new tab

TabInsights suggests your next move — the workspace you last abandoned, or the one you use most.

  2. 02

    Click once

Your tabs open, the timer starts, and the sites that usually derail you are already blocked.

  3. 03

    See it add up

When the sprint ends, your Focus Score updates. Take the break. Go again, or don't.

Questions people actually ask

FAQ

Is TabInsights free?

Yes. Time tracking, the Pomodoro focus timer, the website blocker, tab declutter, and the tab suspender are free forever. A one-time $4.99 Pro upgrade adds site time limits, scheduled blocking, unlimited workspaces, and cloud sync.

How do I block distracting websites in Chrome?

Install TabInsights, open the popup, and add any domain to your block list — permanently or for a set number of minutes. Starting a focus sprint also blocks social media, entertainment, and news sites automatically until the sprint ends.

Does TabInsights reduce Chrome's memory usage?

Yes. The built-in memory saver suspends tabs you haven't used for a configurable time (15–60 minutes), freeing roughly 50 MB of RAM per tab. Suspended tabs restore instantly with one click, and you can whitelist sites that should never suspend.

Is my browsing data private?

Completely. All stats are stored locally in your browser. There is no account, no server, no analytics service, and your browsing history never leaves your device.

Does TabInsights have a Pomodoro timer?

Yes — one-click 15, 25, or 45-minute focus sprints with automatic distraction blocking, a countdown on the toolbar icon, and a Pomodoro-style break timer when the sprint completes.

Can I limit how much time I spend on YouTube each day?

Yes. Site Time Limits let you set a daily cap per domain — for example 30 minutes on youtube.com. When the limit is reached, the site is blocked until midnight.

Forty minutes on Reddit isn't a decision.
